Pro Bono Commitment

Grigsby & Associates is committed to advancing the public good by providing pro bono financial and legal counsel in select cases, often focusing on situations where citizens have experienced injustice related to water and sewer utilities. While the majority of our work is on a fee basis, Grigsby & Associates selects a small percentage of cases each year for pro bono representation—prioritizing those with urgent need and significant community impact.

Recent examples include advocacy for Birmingham, Alabama citizens in a federal lawsuit over the alleged illegal takeover of the city’s water utility, and representation of Highland Park, Michigan sewer rate payers in disputes with the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) over burdensome water and sewage bills.
